Parent and Tot Classes

Why Teach Toddlers a Second Language?

The best time for children to learn a second language is while they are already learning their primary language.

This is when the window of opportunity grants a child the cognitive flexibility to retain multiple languages and reiterate with native pronunciation.

Our programs are tailored to allow learning naturally through fun, play-based activities with their parent or caregiver.

About Parent & Tot Programs

The Parent & Tot programs are a great opportunity for a parent or caregiver to engage and learn a new language with their child. These programs allow parents and children to interact while learning new words and simple phrases together!

  • Every two weeks, we feature a new learning topic such as colors, clothing, foods, or body parts.
  • Every week, students learn the topic words and phrases through age-appropriate fun and engaging songs, games, play-based activities, snack, and craft projects.
  • We focus on verbal communication for this age group to achieve native pronunciation skills.

These classes are for children ages 18 months to 3 years of age. We keep classes small for more personalized language-learning attention.

Locations and Languages

Currently, we offer Spanish Parent & Tot class at our Hilliard location, and Chinese, Spanish and French Parent & Tot classes at our Westerville Center. We are looking to expand into the Cincinnati and Dayton areas soon!

Requirements

A love of learning with your child is the only requirement for this program.  You do not have to be bilingual to join; in fact, you might just learn a lot as well!

About Cultured Kids Club

What We Do:

Cultured Kids Club is dedicated to growing multilingual children. We offer Spanish, French, & Chinese total immersion language programs for children ages 18 months - 14 years.

Since 2008, Cultured Kids Club has educated more than 1,100 students! We offer our award-winning total immersion foreign language programs in more than 20 different locations throughout the Columbus, Ohio area. Our native and fluent teachers hold their Bachelor or Master degrees and are proficient in the Total Immersion and Total Response methods.

Our Story:

Cultured Kids Club was established on the belief that every child can and should learn a second language. Tanya Johnson founded Cultured Kids Club in 2010 because she saw the necessity for bilingual speakers in the workplace.

  • Knowing that most students in the United States will not receive any foreign language education until high school, she created a dynamic, immersive language program.
    • This program would develop, sustain and advance children's foreign language proficiency.

We set out to provide a program that will teach children new languages in a fun, engaging, and age-appropriate way.

Our Goal:

Our goal is to continuously advance students into reading, writing, and verbal bilingualism.

  • We introduce students to native pronunciation and everyday concepts with fluent teachers.
  • We take advantage of the window of opportunity that early learning provides.
  • Our curriculum progresses with the student's ability.
